Things all got a bit out of hand yesterday. I won't bore you with the details, just the highlights: AA man; snow storm; new fan belt. By the time that was all over I couldn't face anything else and went to bed. "Anything else" would have included a classical concert in Norwich, so now I still don't know if I like Beethoven. Of course I eventually got bored of sulking and wished I'd gone, which officially makes me a twat!

And today? Well I made no plans as I was fully expecting the country to be at a standstill because of snow. It isn't, although it does look a bit cold out there. But I don't know what to do. I don't want to spend all day indoors again, but it's looking like that's what may happen. Damn this stupid winter!

I was going to be really whiney but I've been whining in my head all day and I'm bored of it so you're spared that pleasure! I was so whiney I came home and went straight to bed with a box of tea cakes. Now, five hours later, I'm bored of sulking but of course it's far too late to do anything else. I'm contemplating chicken pie, which may not be the smartest idea ever!

I was going to rant about snow but it's all a bit tedious, so instead lets enjoy a car picture:

It's Gary Lineker - twat! - and his girlfriend in a new advert for crisps. Nice car!

Tonight I should have gone out but there's a lot of fog so I thought better of it and instead binged on carbohydrates. It's not as bad as it sounds though as I rediscovered the joy of Eccles cakes, so the evening was not wasted!
I've got to stop those early nights, because the stupid dreams keep filling my head! Last night, in my dreams, I went to dinner at the 24 year olds (pasta with peas and sprouts but no sauce) and he went to bed early so I ended up' spending most of the evening with his boyfriend, and liking him. Let's not go there! And the following day I took a bus to a small Norfolk town with Antony of Antony and the Johnsons. We went to lots of cake shops and ate good cake, and he sang as We did which rather drew a crowd. I promise tonight I'll stay up late, because the alternative is too tiring!

It's snowed again overnight, and stupidly I forgot it was going to happen! It looks pretty but although the road is a bit more covered than earlier in the week it's still not bad enough to keep me at home. Perhaps later there will be time for snowmen?

And finally, because I forgot yesterday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOM!!! XXX

I'm a bit bored at the moment which means that I've been getting lots of early nights. 9.30 again last night, which is good from a sleep point of view but a little dull! I dreamt I was one of six people squeezed into a car driven by a Lindsay Lohan-esque actress, on a road trip from Brighton to London. Along the way we bumped into some people I went to school with, and ended up being very late. It was one of those dull dreams that wouldn't end no matter how much I wished it would!

I spent the morning craving a meat pie, then spent the afternoon dreaming of a trip to London. I need to see tall buildings and feel the buzz of the city! But it will have to wait, because right now I've got early nights to get through...

Did anyone see Moses Jones on TV last night? It was a detective thing, not the kind of programme I'd normally watch, except that one of the actors in it is the man who will be Doctor Who, and I'm curious to see what he's like.

The bad news is that he really does have bad hair. And his face looks like it's been flattened with a spade. And he was doing an annoying accent that I hope isn't his own. But despite all that there was something about him I liked. In some odd way he reminds me of David Tennant. Would it be really wanky to say that he has an energy about him that I like? So things might not be all bad after all!

Back in the real world today has been a bit dull. Whilst other parts of the country struggle with more snow it's been sunny and dry here, but horribly cold, which is all very well but I want to be sledging and snowballing and trapped at home by a blizzard!

It snowed!

And inevitably the country came to a standstill. How crap are we? We got away lightly in thispart of the country, just as we always do: enough snow to cover your shoes and the car but not enough to bring the roads to a standstill. And yet one of my colleagues still wondered if we all ought to go home early just in case. Twat! I'm bored of it now - either snow properly, and by that I mean enough to keep me at home making snowmen - or go away!

The day wasn't a complete disaster though - as I wandered round the supermarket I discovered Chocolate Arctic Roll. Actually the reality was less exciting than the idea, but it was the best 65p I spent today.

And finally, you may have noticed the Twitter thing on the right hand side of this blog. I'm a bit bored lately so random internet things keep me amused, like the poll I had going last week. Thanks for voting, I'm sorry I rewarded those of you who wanted more nudity with just naked Morrissey, but be patient and there might be something more appealing for you.

Anyway, Twitter. I heard about it a while back, but always associated it with American political journalism - don''t ask me why, I'm prone to misunderstanding things! I think it might have been relaunched over here recently because I've seen it cropping up in various places around the internet. So in a moment's boredom I signed up. It's like the 'status update' on Facebook, which is my favourite bit of that, and that's it really. I may get bored of it soon, but for now I'm enjoying the idea of keeping people updated on my mood even more than ever. Welcome to my self-absorption!

The car's back! Which is clearly an excuse for a photo:

The whole thing has been a bit of a rollercoaster to be honest. When the car wasn't running properly I just didn't want to be in it, but when it was at the garage I was scared they'd break it. Then when they worked out what was wrong with it I was hugely relieved but completely in shock about the cost, then terrified they'd mess something else up when they fixed it. I spent yesterday morning hanging round waiting for them to call, and by the time they did at 11.30 I was a wreck! I went over to collect it and as I walked across the car park to collect it I thought I was going to be sick with nerves. Then I started the engine, put my foot on the accelerator and instantly new everything was fine - I could have wept! It was all so ridiculously traumatic that I came home and went to bed for the afternoon!

Last night I could have gone to a gay club with FMBF, which would have been fun, but it would have also been very late and very drunken and I really wasn't in the mood to wipe out a whole Sunday with a hangover. Not that I have anything planned today, I just hate that dreadful morning after feeling that seems to last all day now. So instead I stayed at home and defrosted the fridge, which is just about the least fun you can have on a Saturday night!

I also rewatched Shortbus which if you haven't seen you really must. Yes there's a lot of sex in it, some of it really, really explicit, but ultimately it's just this gorgeously warm film about love and New York which really ended my day with a smile.

And finally a couple of random things I've discovered this week:

Bromance - a non-sexual
relationship between two straight men (or one straight and one gay man, although I'm sure this gets complicated in a When Harry met Sally... kind of way). I love these kind of made up words and picked this one up in an otherwise quite silly episode of Gossip Girl. I love Gossip Girl! Yes I know it's meant for teenagers but why shouldn't middleaged gay men also enjoy beautiful people swanning round the Upper West Side and Brooklyn?

Michael Stipe and his boyfriend have an interesting house, but I think the clutter would drive me mad! Cute couple though!
