Random Supermarket Shopping

On the way back from Norwich we stopped at Tesco. I didn't need anything but that didn't stop me coming away with the following items:

Cheese. Made with Marmite. It's a food car crash. I'm slightly scared to actually eat it.

I only bought these because of the packaging. The photograph reminds me of the Richard Heeps' photographs I like, particularly the big cowboy head I have on the bedroom wall.

A big gay pink shirt, because astonishingly I don't have one, and it was only £11.25. Lovely too!

Thank God I'm not!

My horoscope said this was going to be a really sociable week and yet I've spent every evening at home - so much for astrology! The nearest I got to sociable was bumping into Barry in Tesco, although as moments before he'd been making rude hand gestures at me at the traffic lights I'm not sure that counts....

This evening I've eaten badly and greedily, and watched more X-men DVD extras than I thought possible. Don't panic, I'm not going to give me more pictures of Hugh Jackman naked!

And finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAN IN BARCELONA!!! XXX

I had planned to go and see a Kate Winslet film tonight. Not the Oscar winning Nazi one, the other one, Revolutionary Road. But to be truthful my heart wasn't in it. It might be the first time she's worked with her husband but it looks too much like stuff they've done before: his American Beauty (repression in suburbia) and her Little Children (more repression in suburbia). And the added Leonardo Dicaprio didn't help.

So instead I stayed home, ate semolina and watched X-men 2. Having enjoyed the first one last week I decided to work my way through the whole trilogy in preparation for the Wolverine film that's out at the end of the month.

It's was a load of nonsense of course, but I still enjoyed it. The cast, which was already a bit heavy with talent, this time included Brian Cox, thereby completing the set of heavyweight English actors. He was looking mighty fine with a goattee, good hair and nice glasses, in an, "mmm Daddy!" kind of way! Alan Cummings is in it as well, but he's painted blue and most of his dialogue is religious nonsense with a German accent.

It's also just another excuse to admire the beauty that is Hugh Jackman:

Mmmm Daddy!

This morning work was really annoying so when I came home for lunch I channeled my rage and finally sorted out another trip to Barcelona. Yay!

This afternoon work was really annoying so when I came home for tea I channeled my rage into watching Gossip Girl.

Oh.

I'd go to bed but I've just poured myself a beer and quite sensibly I have a 'no beer in bed' rule. It's what separates us from the animals you know.

Inevitably the return to work was also the return to dullness! Nevermind, there were sweets and biscuits so no one got killed!

This evening I really should have tackled the garden whilst it's dry, but if I go much further I'll have to work out what I want to do next and I've no idea what that is! Today's dilemma:

Is logroll edging really naff? And what's the alternative?

Rather than thinking about it I'm watching Gok Wan who I find vaguely terrifying.

The 24 year old stayed over last night, which was fun. Instead of going to the Indian restaurant we got enough Chinese takeaway to feed four people then proceeded to eat most of it whilst watching Come Dine with Me, which it turned out we're both obsessed with! Then something about ABBA, then three episodes of Victoria Wood's fabulous dinnerladies which is ridiculously funny, or perhaps that was just the gin?

After I dropped him off this morning I went to see Mum, who had had my sister's kids to stay the night so it was all chaos there. Then I took her out to buy a fork to replace the one I broke on Friday. Turns out it was her favourite fork after all. Just my luck!

This afternoon I've been ironing and napping and eating chocolate until I feel sick. Frustratingly the sun has finally come out - at this stage of the holiday what's the point!?

I'm bored of Easter now! It's raining and grey out there, today is Sunday, the shops are shut and there are only Easter Eggs to look forward to - what kind of holiday is Easter?!

The highlight of the Easter weekend was always going to be the Doctor Who special. The end is in sight for David Tennant now so we have to make the most of every last minute. As these things go it wasn't too bad although when it finished I did realise that it was an awful lot of running round to cover up the fact there was no emotional content.

Now where's my egg?

HAPPY EASTER!!! XXX
